Valley Gem Inc. - Valley Gem in Marietta, Ohio was inspected by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on July 10 for food and cosmetics technical assistance and received five citations, according to data posted on the FDA’s official website.

The FDA website indicates that the citations were delivered to the company as follows:

'Ice coming into contact with food and drink is not stored in such a manner as to avoid contamination.'

'Adequate facilities are not provided for the cleaning and bactericidal treatment of equipment used in the preparation of food and beverages.'

'Not all working surfaces used in connection with storage of food are maintained in good repair.'

'Failure to equip each refrigerator with a thermometer located in the warmest region thereof.'

'Not all tanks and piping bear clear marks of identification.'
