City of Columbus issued the following announcement on Feb 21.
“I really don’t look upon myself as an African American Leader, instead a servant entrusted to provide services to the greater community. I think I got this from my parents who were both public servants.
They were spiritual people and always told me, “Everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and much, much more will be demanded from those who serve.” Service is what wakes me up in the morning and it is an honor to do so on behalf of the people of Columbus"
