Franklin County issued the following announcement on March 29.
Have you purchased your 2022 dog license yet?
The deadline to purchase a Franklin County Dog License without receiving a penalty fee, is THIS Thursday, March 31st.
Ohio law requires that all dogs older than three months of age be licensed within the county in which they reside. This law applies regardless of whether the dog is kept primarily inside or out and regardless of breed.
Dog licenses are also a great form of identification. Each year, many lost dogs are able to be reunited because of the license tag displayed on their collar.
You can purchase your dog license in person at the Franklin County Dog Shelter or at the Franklin County Auditor's Office. Licenses can also be purchased online by visiting https://doglicense.franklincountyohio.gov/#login
