As the community celebrates Earth Day, check out the new commercial food dehydrators at the state-of-art James A. Karnes Corrections Center. As deputies pondered the most earth friendly way to deal with food waste, they settled on this equipment which can reduce food weight and volume by as much as 90-percent. The end product can be used as a soil amendment suitable for use in landscaping. #earthday
