Not all heroes wear capes. We’ve all wondered how we would handle ourselves in a moment of crisis. Leap to action? Freeze? Deputy Dan Benson recently responded to a home in west Franklin County where he found a man unresponsive on the floor. Deputy Benson performed CPR for several minutes until medics arrived. Family members were thankful help came so quickly…because someone knowledgeable was there to take charge and leap into action in their moment of crisis. This isn’t the first time Deputy Benson has saved a life. We commend him for doing what we all like to believe we would all do in that same situation, but doing it without a moment’s hesitation, and with compassion.
