COLUMBUS, OH– On April 12, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) reiterated her commitment to the safety and security of Central Ohioans amid right-wing attacks.

“The safety and well-being of Central Ohioans have remained my top priority in Congress since I took office.

“We must address the root causes of crime if we want to make our communities safer. I will continue to work tirelessly to address this issue — predominately fueled by the epidemic of gun violence — from marching with Moms Demand Action, coordinating a sit-in with my colleagues on the House Floor, and passing multiple pieces of landmark legislation to curb gun violence in our communities.

“We know that one life taken from gun violence is too many. Unfortunately, my Republican colleagues, including the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, refuse any reasonable efforts to keep guns off our streets.

“Despite Republicans’ unwillingness to put People Over Politics, I am committed to continuing to work with local officials, community leaders, and the public to rid our community of illegal guns and stop the violence that is taking place.”
